As preparations continue and the Harrison Fest Banners are about to go up to signal that Harrison Fest 2015 is around the corner, the Harrison Fest Committee would like to share a picture from Harrison Fest 2001. The picture was taken in the center of town on the corner of Harrison Avenue and North Frank E. Rodgers Blvd in Harrison (of course).  From Left to Right, Councilman Anselmo Millan, United States Senator Robert Menendez, present day Mayor James A. Fife, Laly DaSilva (co-owner DaSilva Fashions), and the late Mayor Raymond J. McDonough.  There is sadness that Mayor McDonough is no longer physically with us but we know that he will looking down on Harrison Fest 2015 and saying a "job well done."  The picture was taken on Saturday, June 2, 2001.  The forecast was for rain but as the Parade kicked off the sun came out and there was no rain for the entire weekend.

The photo is courtesy of the John M. Pinho photo archive.
